Rays Fun Facts: Jay Rozell is the
only player to win a championship title as both a player and a captain (2005, 2008). The Rays are the second oldest franchise
in the league behind only the Braves. For the third straight season, Rozell will be starting with basically an entirely new
roster.

The Rays have an all around solid offense. From the top to the bottom of the order, everyone of these guys
can hit. Just like every year under Rozell's control, his team usually leads the league in runs scored. Look for similar results
in 2009.

The pitching staff for this team has many question marks. Colin Phillips is their ace, but can be very
wild at times. The Rays desperately need another pitcher to have any shot to compete for the title again.

The Rays will most certainly be a powerful
offensive team. Yet as we all know in this league, you only win with great pitching. This is one of the reasons why the Rays
probably won't be serious contenders unless they go out on the market and acquire another arm. Until then, who knows.

Need to rebuild a franchise? Well picking up the 2008 rookie of the year is a good place to start. The Rays signed Anthony
Auspelmyer to a contract. Rozell also signed Colin Phillips.
