Scouting Report
The Good:

In 2008 the greatest strength of the Braves was without a doubt their pitching. Hess anchored the staff with a microscopic 0.83 ERA. Even when Giordano went down early with an arm injury, George Stegmann stepped up. The Braves held opposing offenses to only 42 runs allowed in 12 games. Thanks to their great pitching they were able to capture yet another Hess Division title.

The Bad:

Well the Braves finally were able to improve their offense. A big reason for that was James Strang boosting his OBP from last season. Despite leading the division in runs scored, the Braves looked over powered against decent pitching in the playoffs. A big bat in the middle of the order is an absolute necessity for the Braves in 2009. The same reason they lost in 2007 came back to haunt them yet again. After not adding a bat last year, maybe they learned their lesson and will be on the look out for a good hitter.

'09 Outlook:

The dynasty is officially over. The Braves look to regain their winning traditions in 2009 though. These guys are certainly favorites considering their core of players are all veterans. Look for the Braves to have a shot at the title next season.
