Game Recap - The No Names came out firing
offensively, scoring three runs in the first two innings off of Cy Young winner Chris Hess. George Stegmann responded for
the Cuda's in the second inning by hitting a grand slam, which brought the game to 6-5. After a scoreless third inning from
both teams, the No Names opened up the game by putting a big four spot on the board to take a 10-5 lead in the fourth inning.
Some shaky Cuda defense gave No Name's Zac Longo all the run support he could have ever asked for. Yet the Cuda's would not
go down easy. James Strang connected for his first HR of the season, by hitting an opposite field solo HR in the bottom of
the 4th to bring the game to 10-6. Hess then pitched a 1-2-3 fifth inning. The Cuda's would then tie the game at 10-10 in
the bottom of the 5th inning. They scored three runs by some clutch hitting and being patient at the plate. With the
momentum in the hands of the Cuda's it was up to Hess to shut down the powerful No Name offense. After
Zac got on base from a single, Kyle McKelvey hit a laser to LF to give them a 12-10 lead. Conor Hart then stepped up to the
plate and followed suit, by crushing a solo shot to LF as well to bring the lead to 13-10. The back-to-back HR's were just
enough to prevent the Cuda's winning game one. Their comeback effort wasn't enough as the No Names take the ever important
game one.
