Game Recap - Who would have thought the 2007
Lamb Cy Young winner would lose to team that went 1-9, having their only one win come via a forfit. Who would have thought,
a pitcher who was 0-4 during the regular season would shut down the Lamb Division champs to just 12 runs? Who would have thought
the Cheesey Poof's would have won?! Nick Bove pitched the game of his life, coming up with clutch strikeouts
and even some big hits in the batters box. Dan Macken did all he could to help out Nick Bove on the mound. Macken went 7 for
7 with 3 RBIs and a HR. Jared Gero also had a big day at the plate going 3 for 4 with 4 RBIs and making some slick catches
at first base. James Resue took to the mound and got out of some bases loaded jams in the first couple
of innings. James only allowed two runs in the first three innings. It was the 4th inning when it all fell apart for Resue
and the Yankees. The Poof's ended up putting a big 9 spot after Resue and Joseph could only get two batters out. Dan Macken
and Jared Gero both homered. The Yankees slowly came back though, as they continued to score two runs
an inning. We go to the bottom of the 6th, as the Poof's have a 13-9 lead, Jesse Reskc stepped up to the plate. With a man
on first and second Jesse cranked an unusual HR off of Bove to bring the score to 13-12. Bove struck out DeNoyer, then walked
the next two batters. With a runner on at second and first with two outs Jesse Reskc stepped up to the plate again. With a
chance to win it, Jesse worked the count to 2-2. Bove then threw him a low slider and struck him out. The Cheesey Poof's won
their first game of their franchise career. Their other two 'wins' came from forfits, so this one felt really good. The Poof's
take a 1-0 series lead.
