Hess
All Star's shine on Monday
|
No Name Captain Zac Longo awaits a pitch during the 2007 HR Derby. Zac pitched three no-hit innings
during the All Star.
| | 2007 HR Derby As 5:00 PM loomed closer, a sea of red and blue shirts filled the field. As the masses of people came to
take part in what has become, the HFWB's signature night. The 2007 All Star night would begin with the annual Home Run
Derby. The Derby had 20 sluggers hoping to take the crown from defending champ, Chris Hess. In the first round, two HR's was
enough to take the lead. Dan Macken surprised some people by jacking a pair of taters in round one, but found himself eliminated
in the second round. Some of the big time HR hitters in the league barely made it to round two, by hitting at least one
HR. Nick Sutter just made it to the second round, but couldn't put one over afterwards. After a lengthy round one, eight people
were eliminated.

derby with 7 longballs.
| | Round two would take
the four best scores, which happen to be Chris Suriano, Jesse Horwedel, Chris Horwedel and Chris Hess. Jesse Horwedel started
the final round off without hitting a HR, all but ensuring he would not win the event. Chris Suriano followed by doing more
of the same, putting up a goose egg. Chris Horwedel was the first one to hit a HR in the final round, as he smacked two. So
last up, was defending HR champion Chris Hess. Two homers to tie, three to win. After only 6 pitches Hess hit three HR's to
win the derby for the second year in a row.

George Stegmann takes a pitch from Omar
Husain during the 2007 All Star game. The Hess Division All Star's won the game 28-3.
| | 2007 All
Star Game The
All Star game started out with high hopes, but only left the Lamb Division pitching staff with a high ERA. The Hess All
Star's took a 3-0 lead into the bottom of the first, and things still looked positive at this point for the Lamb All Stars.
That was until they saw who was starting against them. Zac Longo, captain of the No Names, came out firing. Zac struck out
the first six batters he faced, 8 all together in three no hit innings. Zac's pitching set the tempo for the rest of the game
as the Hess All Stars built their lead up to an impressive 15-0 in just three innings. It was the bottom of the 4th inning
when the Lamb All Stars would finally get on the board.

| | Chris
Hess took to the mound for the Hess All Stars in the 4th inning. After Hess retired Jay Rozell and Nick Sutter on ground balls,
James Resue stepped to the plate. With the count 2-2, Resue took a slider inside and deposited the pitch about 150 feet into
LF. The high towering HR proved to be the only highlight for the Lamb All Stars, but it was a worthy moment to witness. Hess
cruised through the 4th, 5th and 6th innings as the Hess All Stars built their lead up even more, taking a 19-0. James Resue
pitched the best of the Lamb All Stars, allowing only 2 runs in three innings of work. Nick Sutter and Omar Husain got the
worst of the attack, allowing the remaining 26 runs. In the bottom of the 8th and 9th, the Lamb All Stars managed to score
two runs off of Anthony Tote, but it was not enough. The Hess All Stars continue to dominate the league this year as they
secured home field advantage in the playoffs.
