Game Recap - No pitcher has ever thrown a perfect game, and no pitcher came so close to throwing on on Thursday. Hess pitched a complete game shut out against a very good hitting lineup. Eric Verhayden took to the mound for Zimbabwe in the first inning striking out the side. Unfortunately for him, those three strikeouts would all he could get as the Barracudas roughed him up for 13 hits and 13 runs.
The only hit Hess allowed was on a clean single by Eric Verhayden in the first inning. Hess cruised from there on out, as he struck out 8. Chris has some great plays made in the field by his defense, which allowed him to hold onto his first shut out of the year. Tim Goyette and Chris Hess each hit their first home run of the year as well in the victory.
