Each teams pitching rotation resets for the beginning of the
playoffs. The pitching rotation does not reset though at the beginning of each round.
Championship Finals Thursday August 9th Hess Field - 2:30 PM #1 Yankees vs #3 No Names
The 2007 HFWB Playoffs
Andy Fassett and Team Zimbabwe proved they can play with some of the best teams in the league.
Can they take it to the next step and win the crown?
As the 2007 regular season draws to a close, wifflers are looking forward to the playoffs. We've seen
so many great games in the post season. The 11 inning 0-0 marathon was one of the major highlights of last years playoffs.
It was game three between the #1 Cyclones and #2 Canada. After putting up zero's for 11 innings, Hess finally hit a 2 run
double in the top of the 11th to give them a stunning victory. That win sent them to the Championship finals, where they won
their second straight title. Clinton Quay's Circumcisers reached the finals but could not get the big hit when they really
needed it. The Lamb Division looks stronger this year then the last. Team Zimbabwe has played some great wiffleball lately,
can they carry that into the postseason? The G-Bangers need to retune their questionable pitching staff to have any chance,
and can the Cheesey Poof's be the first team to win a game as a #4 seed? Or will the powerful Yankees sweep through the playoffs
as they look for their first championship title.
Conor Hart and the No Names could prove to be a deadly team in the playoffs. Their pitching staff
can be unhittable at times, and their offense is very powerful.
The Cyclones are probably the most cursed team in the playoffs. Maybe it was the pressure of being the favorites
in 2006 that led to their ultimate collapse. The Barracudas certainly have the most pressure this year, as they have won
it two straight years. With half their team gone from 2006 can they win it again? You also can't forget about the
No Names and GUDG. Each team has a pitcher who can just shut down any offense. So it is easy to say this will be the
best playoffs ever in the Hess Division.
